Amargarh, KIC Emerge Champions as Baramulla Volleyball Championship 2026 Concludes

Baramulla, June 3: The Baramulla Volleyball Championship 2026 concluded on a high note at the Showket Ali Indoor Stadium, Baramulla, after two months of intense competition and enthusiastic participation from across the district.Organised jointly by the Indian Army and the District Sports Council under the theme “Wadi-e-Tarjuman – Baramulla Youth Says Yes to Sports, No to Drugs,” the championship was held in two phases from April 4 to June 3 and featured 46 men’s and women’s teams.
The tournament witnessed thrilling matches, strong public support and remarkable displays of sporting talent. In the final matches, Amargarh Volleyball Club lifted the men’s title, while KIC Volleyball Club emerged victorious in the women’s category.
The championship was conducted in support of the Nasha-Mukt Abhiyan, aiming to encourage youth participation in sports and steer them towards a healthy, disciplined and drug-free lifestyle.
Senior civil dignitaries, sports officials, students and local residents attended the grand finale and lauded the initiative for promoting sports culture, youth empowerment and community engagement in the region.
The successful conclusion of the championship highlighted the growing enthusiasm for sports among the youth of Baramulla and reinforced the values of unity, sportsmanship and civil-military cooperation in Kashmir.
