Udhampur police arrest two drug peddlers with heroin in separate operations
UDHAMPUR, May 30, 2026 :- As part of a sustained crackdown against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan, the Udhampur Police apprehended two drug peddlers in separate operations and recovered a total of nine grams of heroin.
In the first operation, a police team from the Majalta Police Station intercepted a motorcycle traveling from Khoon Dhar road toward Majalta. Upon searching the rider, identified as Irfan Ahmed, a resident of Bakhal Harteryan in Udhampur, police personnel recovered 4.5 grams of heroin.
A case has been registered at the Majalta Police Station under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
In the second operation, the Udhampur Police Station intercepted and arrested Satveer Singh, a resident of Kunjwani in Jammu. Security personnel recovered another 4.5 grams of heroin, along with its packaging material, from his possession.
A separate case has been registered against the accused at the Udhampur Police Station, and further investigations are underway in both incidents to trace the origin of the contraband.
