KUD, May 28, 2026 — Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Kud police station today to assess regional security arrangements. The meeting saw active participation from Sub-Divisional Police Officer Chenani, Sukhbir Singh, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Probationer, Palak Anand.
The discussion focused primarily on streamlining security protocols and maintaining vigilance during the peak travel season.Following the review meeting, the Deputy Inspector General visited the busy Kud market area to interact directly with local business owners, residents, and visitors. Acknowledging the ongoing tourist rush, the top police official appealed to the general public to cooperate fully with security personnel during routine checking procedures.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious individuals or activities to the local police to ensure public safety.During his interaction with the visitors, the official highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir Police warmly welcomes all tourists and pilgrims visiting the Udhampur-Reasi Range. Travelers were advised to use the emergency helpline number 112 for immediate police assistance or support during their journey.
The senior officer also held brief discussions with local hoteliers, taxi operators, and shopkeepers, advising them to facilitate and guide visitors efficiently. He emphasized the importance of interacting politely with travelers, ensuring that every visitor returns home with a positive message about the hospitality and tourist destinations of Jammu and Kashmir.
