JAMMU, May 28, 2026: In a massive escalation against cross-border terrorism, security forces deployed a heavy fire assault and Multiple Grenade Launcher (MGL) attacks on specific suspected terrorist hideouts as ‘Operation Sheruwali’ entered its sixth consecutive day in the dense forests of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. As per official Sources that two to three Pakistani terrorists, including a top commander, are currently cornered within the cordoned zone.
The joint task force—comprising the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)—has been relentlessly tracking the group since Monday, guided by a trail of blood stains left behind by the fleeing terrorists following a brief, initial gunfight. To ensure zero escape routes, the military grid has aggressively narrowed the cordon, flooding the rugged Dori Maal forests with additional troop reinforcements and implementing strict vehicle checkpoints on all connecting roads.
The high-tech, multi-agency manhunt is being heavily supported by aerial surveillance from helicopters and drones, alongside elite canine sniffer squads. Operation Sheruwali originally commenced last Saturday following precise intelligence inputs regarding suspicious movements in the Singhpora-Chatroo area, and security forces remain locked in a high-stakes determination to neutralize the holed-up terrorists.
