Southern Command chief reviews advanced training at Ahilyanagar centers
AHILYANAGAR, May 15, 2026The General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command conducted a high-level visit to the Armoured Corps Centre and School as well as the Mechanised Infantry Centre and School to assess ongoing modernization efforts.
During the visit, the Army Commander reviewed various modern training initiatives and the development of state-of-the-art infrastructure designed to sharpen the force’s combat readiness. The inspection focused on the integration of cutting-edge technology into military training to ensure soldiers are prepared for evolving battlefield challenges.
A significant portion of the review was dedicated to specialized facilities, including the AR/VR Lab, which provides immersive environments for tactical drills. The Commander also examined new programs centered on counter-drone operations and autonomous systems, reflecting a strategic shift toward technology-driven warfare.
These advancements are part of a broader mission to build future-ready warfighting capabilities, ensuring that the mechanized and armored wings of the Indian Army remain equipped with the most sophisticated training tools available.
