JPDCL Managing Director inspects power infrastructure and addresses public concerns in Kalakote Sunderbani

JAMMU, MAY 09: Managing Director of Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited G. P. Singh, accompanied by MLA Randhir Singh, conducted an extensive tour of various areas within the Kalakote Sunderbani constituency to assess the current power infrastructure.

The visit was aimed at directly addressing public grievances and ensuring the reliability of the electricity supply across the region. Starting in Langer village, the delegation met with residents who requested the replacement of old and damaged electric poles, prompting the Managing Director to instruct the concerned Executive Engineer to resolve these priority issues immediately .

During visits to Hatkah, Devak, Khabbar, and Marcholla, locals raised concerns regarding low voltage and requested the strengthening of the 11 KV network. Residents also pointed out that overgrown tree branches touching power lines often lead to frequent faults and disruptions. In response, the Managing Director directed officials to coordinate with the Forest Department for necessary branch cutting to maintain a steady and uninterrupted power flow.

The inspection continued at the under-construction 3.15 MVA receiving stations at Thriyath and Kamil Gala in Kalakote, where the progress of ongoing work was reviewed on-site. Additionally, the team visited the Sail Su receiving station, which is currently facing overloading issues due to rising local demand.

The Managing Director ordered a thorough examination of the station’s capacity and called for immediate measures to augment and strengthen the infrastructure to meet the needs of consumers effectively.
