National Conference Udhampur Unit Conducts Outreach Program in Block Latti to Address Public Concerns
LATTI, May 4 — The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Udhampur unit carried out an extensive tour of Block Latti today, visiting the remote villages of Shivgali, Chadi Bangla, and Pachound.
Led by District President Sunil Verma, the delegation organized a series of public outreach programs aimed at educating residents about the welfare initiatives of the government led by Omar Abdullah.
Local leaders from the Block Latti Committee facilitated the meetings, which served as a platform for residents in these far-flung areas to share their experiences and challenges directly with party representatives.
During the sessions, community members highlighted several pressing issues, including a lack of basic amenities, developmental neglect, and rising unemployment.
Residents expressed frustration over the perceived absence of elected representatives, noting that many had not returned to the region to address local needs since the elections held over a year and a half ago.
In response, Sunil Verma noted that remote areas like Latti, Dudu, and Basantgarh have historically faced neglect due to polarizing politics. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to ensuring that governance reaches every corner of the region, regardless of geographical isolation.
Additional Spokesperson Akash Verma addressed the gatherings by stating that the current administration is focused on fulfilling the promises made in the National Conference manifesto. He emphasized that the government is prioritizing the needs of marginalized sections of society and working to restore public trust following years of administrative disconnect.
A significant portion of the discussion focused on youth unemployment, which has become a major concern since 2014. The delegation assured the public that dedicated efforts are underway to create new opportunities and reduce the economic burden on the younger generation.
The outreach program saw significant public participation, with several local residents formally joining the party during the visit. Speakers Mir Qasim and Amarnath described the National Conference as a movement dedicated to protecting public rights and strengthening grassroots democracy.
As the tour concluded, residents expressed hope that the party would gain further strength in the upcoming Panchayat elections, allowing for more direct representation and a faster pace of development for the people of Block Latti.
