Education and Infrastructure Projects Launched by Sakeena Itoo in Kulgam
KULGAM, May 2, 2026—Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare, and Education Sakeena Itoo inaugurated a new primary school building at Zambalnard and laid the foundation stone for the Zumbalnad-Baidjahalan road today.
During the ceremony, she emphasized that upgrading educational facilities and strengthening rural connectivity are essential steps toward bridging developmental gaps in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister noted that the new school infrastructure is designed to provide a better learning environment and encourage higher student attendance in the DH Pora area.
Following the project launches, the Minister hosted a Public Darbar at Baidjahalan to engage directly with the community. She listened to local concerns regarding healthcare, schooling, and public works, assuring residents that their grievances would be addressed through responsive governance.
Itoo highlighted that improved road access is a major priority for the administration, as it facilitates easier transportation and helps stimulate the local economy.The event was attended by senior district officials and the Director of School Education Kashmir.
In her address, the Minister reiterated that the government remains focused on equitable growth, ensuring that remote areas receive the same attention as urban centers.
She directed department heads to expedite ongoing works and maintain accountability in service delivery to ensure that the benefits of these developmental projects reach the citizens effectively.
