Assam Rifles and Narcotics Department Seize Heroin Worth Crores in Aizawl Joint Operation

AIZAWL, May 02, 2026 :- Assam Rifles, in coordination with the Excise and Narcotics Department, carried out a successful joint operation at General Area Ramthar North in Aizawl, Mizoram, on May 01, 2026. The operation resulted in a significant breakthrough against local drug trafficking networks.

During the search, the joint team recovered 397 grams of Heroin No-4, which has an estimated market value of approximately 2.97 crores.In addition to the seizure of the high-grade contraband, security forces apprehended four individuals at the scene.

Following the successful recovery, both the seized heroin and the four suspects were handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department for further investigation.

This operation underscores the ongoing commitment of security agencies to dismantle drug networks in the region and initiate strict legal proceedings against those involved in the narcotics trade.
