DIG Udhampur Reasi Range Reviews Security and Operational Preparedness at Shiv Khori Axis

RANSOO, May 02, 2026 :- Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, conducted a comprehensive security review and assessed the operational preparedness of the Police, Special Operations Group, and CRPF units deployed at Ransoo, Shiv Khori, and Pouni.

During the visit, the DIG evaluated the overall security arrangements established for the smooth and safe conduct of the Shiv Khori Yatra. He inspected key deployment points and evaluated the readiness of the forces to handle any potential contingencies during the pilgrimage.

The DIG took the opportunity to interact directly with pilgrims at Shiv Khori to inquire about their experiences and the effectiveness of current safety measures. He emphasized to the personnel on duty the importance of maintaining a pilgrim-friendly environment while simultaneously upholding strict security protocols.

His inspection covered several critical locations, including X-ray baggage scanning points, the CCTV control room, local market areas, the bus stand, and the Yatra Parchi counter, as well as Kanda More and Jandi More.

Following the inspection, Shiv Kumar Sharma directed ground officers to remain highly vigilant and ensure seamless coordination between various security agencies.

He stressed the need for the effective use of surveillance systems, rigorous checking mechanisms, and organized crowd management to guarantee the safety of all visitors.

The officers were instructed to maintain proactive measures and work closely with all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and incident-free Yatra experience for everyone involved.
