Rajouri District Ranked First Nationally in Budget Quest 2026 Participation

Srinagar, 26th April 2026:- District Rajouri has achieved a major milestone in youth engagement by securing the highest participation rate in the country for the Viksit Bharat Budget Quest Quiz 2026.

In recognition of this national feat, the district was felicitated during the three-day North Region Chintan Shivir organized by the Department of Youth Affairs, Government of India, at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre.

The award was presented by the Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, Raksha Nikhil Khadse, who commended the district for its impactful efforts in promoting financial literacy and civic awareness among the younger generation.

The prestigious award was received by Nitin Hangloo, Deputy Director of Youth Services and Sports Rajouri, on behalf of the District Administration. The recognition highlights the successful mobilization of youth at an unprecedented scale, placing Rajouri at the top of the leaderboard across India.

During the ceremony, officials noted that innovative initiatives like the Budget Quest are essential for fostering a deeper understanding of national governance and economic planning among students and young professionals.

The achievement was attributed to the proactive leadership of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, and the collaborative spirit of various local stakeholders.

The district administration specifically acknowledged the vital contributions of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, along with numerous colleges, schools, and local youth clubs, in driving maximum outreach.

Moving forward, the Rajouri administration has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening youth-centric programs and nurturing responsible citizenship through similar participatory platforms.
