Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Announces Ex-Gratia Relief for Udhampur Accident Victims

JAMMU, April 20 — Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has announced immediate financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the victims and families affected by the tragic road accident in Udhampur.

Under the approved ex-gratia relief, the next of kin of each deceased individual will receive 2 lakh, while those who sustained serious injuries will be provided with 1 lakh. Additionally, the Chief Minister has sanctioned 25,000 for persons who suffered minor injuries in the crash.

While announcing the relief measures, Chief Minister Abdullah acknowledged that no amount of financial support can truly compensate for the irreparable loss of life caused by the incident.

However, he emphasized that the funds are being released as an immediate step to provide necessary support to the families during this period of grief.

He further reiterated that the government remains fully committed to standing by the victims and ensuring they receive all possible assistance throughout their recovery and beyond.
