Indian Ocean Ship Sagar Strengthens Maritime Ties During Successful Thailand Visit

PHUKET, April 19, 2026:- The Indian Ocean Ship Sagar has officially departed from Phuket, Thailand, following a highly productive visit aimed at deepening the strategic partnership between India and Thailand.

Throughout the stay, the vessel and its crew engaged in a comprehensive schedule of professional exchanges and cultural interactions with the Royal Thai Navy.

A pivotal moment of the visit occurred when Commander Siddharth Chaudhary, the Commanding Officer of INS Sunayna, met with Rear Admiral Sathaporn Wajarat, Chief of Staff of the Third Naval Area Command.

This high-level meeting served to reaffirm both nations’ shared dedication to maritime security and mutual cooperation in the region.

Building on the momentum generated in Thailand, IOS Sagar has now set sail for Jakarta, Indonesia, which marks its next significant port of call.

This ongoing deployment is a central component of India’s mission to enhance maritime collaboration and maintain stability throughout the Southeast Indian Ocean Region.
