Assam Rifles Rescues Survivors Following Tragic Landslide Accident in Tamenglong

TAMENGLONG, April 19, 2026:- Assam Rifles personnel launched a rapid rescue operation on April 17, 2026, after a vehicle met with a severe accident on NH-137 near the Makru River in Manipur’s Tamenglong District.

The incident, triggered by a sudden landslide, resulted in the tragic loss of two lives and left three others with serious injuries. Responding quickly to the emergency, Assam Rifles troops navigated difficult terrain to evacuate the survivors and provide life-saving first aid at their Azuiram base.

After stabilizing the injured victims, the personnel ensured their safe transfer to Tamenglong District Hospital for specialized medical treatment.

This timely intervention highlights the force’s vital role in providing critical disaster response and humanitarian assistance in the remote regions of Northeast India.
