J&K Government Declares Holiday for All Educational Institutions Amid Inclement Weather Forecast

Srinagar 27 August :- In a preemptive move to ensure public safety, the Government of Jammu & Kashmir has announced that all schools and colleges across the Union Territory will remain closed on Thursday, August 28, 2025, due to forecasts of inclement weather. The directive was officially communicated by Sakina Itoo, Minister for School Education, Higher Education, and Social Welfare, via a post on the social media platform ‘X’.

This decision, affecting both the Jammu and Kashmir regions, is a standard precautionary measure aimed at safeguarding students and staff from potential hazards associated with severe weather conditions, such as heavy rainfall, flooding, or landslides, which can severely disrupt travel and pose significant risks. The government has advised citizens to stay indoors and follow updates from official meteorological channels.
