Jammu Kashmir Lok Bhavan Celebrates Rajasthan and Odisha Day to Honor Cultural Diversity
JAMMU, MARCH 30: Highlighting the spirit of national integration, Jammu Kashmir Lok Bhavan hosted a vibrant cultural evening on Monday to celebrate Rajasthan Foundation Day and the upcoming Odisha Day (Utkala Dibasa).
Presiding over the event, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha extended his warmest greetings to the people of both states, emphasizing that the ancient values and rich heritage of Rajasthan and Odisha have long served as a source of strength and vision for a united India.
The Lieutenant Governor paid tribute to the “enlightened giants” of Rajasthan who provided humanity with spiritual guidance and noted that Odisha’s profound philosophical contributions have been instrumental in shaping the country’s collective consciousness from the era of Emperor Ashoka to the present day.
A Tribute to Valor, Spirituality, and Literary ExcellenceDuring his address, the Lieutenant Governor lauded Rajasthan as a “treasure trove” of heroism and folk arts, noting how the Aravalli hills and Thar Desert have stood as silent witnesses to the state’s immense cultural wealth.
He specifically highlighted the linguistic diversity of the region, where languages such as Hindi, Marwari, Mewari, and Punjabi have woven a sophisticated literary tapestry.
Turning to the Bhakti movement, he honored the legacy of Meerabai, describing her as the ultimate embodiment of devotion and sacrifice.
He remarked that the contributions of such luminaries not only awakened self-confidence during historical shifts but continue to inspire modern society through their messages of surrender and spiritual upliftment.Strengthening the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” Ethos.
The celebration also looked forward to April 1st, acknowledging Odisha’s millennia-old spiritual golden age and its invaluable role in forging a “Mighty Bharat.” The Lieutenant Governor emphasized that the industrial feats, music-embedded cultures, and social principles of both Rajasthan and Odisha are vital pillars of the “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” initiative.
The event brought together a diverse audience, including students, faculty members, and residents from Rajasthan and Odisha currently living in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, fostering a sense of community and shared national pride through the lens of traditional art and historical remembrance.
