DRDO Young Scientists Meet 2026: Dr. Samir V Kamat Inaugurates YSM-2026 in Hyderabad

​HYDERABAD March 30, 2026:- ​In a significant move to bolster innovation and inter-laboratory collaboration, Dr. Samir V. Kamat, Secretary of Department of Defence R&D and Chairman of DRDO, inaugurated the 12th DRDO Young Scientists Meet (YSM-2026) today in Hyderabad.

The prestigious opening ceremony took place in the presence of top leadership, including the Directors General of Missiles and Strategic Systems (MSS) and Human Resources (HR), alongside the Directors of ASL and DHRD. Organized under the inspiring theme “Together We Grow,” the three-day convention is a collaborative effort between the Directorate of Human Resource Development (DHRD) at DRDO HQ and the Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL), Hyderabad, running from March 30 to April 1, 2026.​

The event serves as a premier platform for fostering technical cohesion and professional synergy among the next generation of defense researchers. Over 200 young scientists from various DRDO laboratories and establishments across India have gathered to participate in a meticulously curated itinerary.

The schedule features a blend of cutting-edge technical symposiums, motivational keynote addresses, and intensive team-building sessions designed to sharpen the strategic capabilities of the workforce.

By prioritizing collective growth and shared expertise, YSM-2026 underscores DRDO’s commitment to nurturing a future-ready scientific community capable of meeting the nation’s evolving defense challenges.
