J&K Nursing Council Successfully Conducts Diploma Exams for 18,040 Candidates Across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh
SRINAGAR, MARCH 29 — In a major academic milestone for the healthcare sector, the Jammu and Kashmir Nursing Council, in collaboration with the J&K Paramedical Council, successfully conducted diploma examinations for over 18,000 students across the Union Territories of J&K and Ladakh on Sunday.
A total of 18,040 candidates participated in the high-stakes evaluation, which covered 33 distinct papers across 15 specialized healthcare streams.
The examination process was spread across 31 centers, meticulously organized to ensure wide accessibility and professional rigor in the training of nursing and allied healthcare professionals.
The divisional breakdown of the turnout highlighted a massive logistical effort: 9,277 candidates appeared in the Jammu Division across 14 centers, while 8,720 candidates sat for the exams in the Kashmir Division, which operated 17 centers covering ten districts.
Additionally, 43 candidates from Ladakh participated in the session. In a notable display of inclusivity and administrative coordination, a special examination center was established at Central Jail Srinagar to accommodate a single candidate following a formal request from jail authorities, ensuring that every eligible student had the opportunity to progress in their professional journey.
