Jammu Rural Police Bust Drug Syndicate in Domana; Three Peddlers Arrested with Heroin and Seized Vehicle

DOMANA/JAMMU March 29,2026 — In a major victory for the ongoing war against narcotics, the Jammu Rural Police successfully dismantled a local drug distribution network by apprehending three prominent peddlers in the Domana area on March 29, 2026.

Acting on high-priority intelligence, a specialized operational team from the Domana Police Station, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), executed a swift raid at Muthi.

The operation resulted in the arrest of three individuals identified as Mohit Sharma of Dream City, Muthi; Ankit Mahajan of Roop Nagar; and Ankit Bhat, also a resident of Roop Nagar.During a meticulous personal search of the suspects, police recovered 7.21 grams of a heroin-like substance along with a digital electronic weighing machine, which is typically used for the precise packaging and sale of contraband.

In addition to the narcotics, the police impounded a vehicle (Registration No. JK02CU-7166) that was allegedly being utilized to facilitate the transport and distribution of the drugs across the Jammu district.

All incriminating materials were sealed on-site as part of the evidence-gathering process.Following the successful intervention, a formal case has been registered under FIR No. 70/2026, invoking stringent sections 8, 21, 22, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at the Domana Police Station.

Authorities have confirmed that the three accused are currently in custody, and a deeper investigation is underway to trace their supply sources and identify any additional links to larger trafficking syndicates.

This operation reaffirms the Jammu Rural Police’s “zero-tolerance” stance on substance abuse and their commitment to making the region a safer environment for its youth.
