LG Manoj Sinha Orders Massive Crackdown on Narco-Terrorism to Achieve ‘Nasha Mukt’ Jammu & Kashmir

JAMMU, MARCH 28, 2026: In a high-level security and administrative review held at Lok Bhavan, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha spearheaded a comprehensive evaluation of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan across the Union Territory.

Addressing a gathering of top officials, including Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and DGP Nalin Prabhat, the Lieutenant Governor called for an aggressive, “whole-of-government” approach to dismantle the ecosystem of drug smuggling and narco-terrorism targeting the youth.

Emphasizing that deliberate efforts are being made to push young citizens into addiction, the LG directed a mission-mode crackdown on smuggling networks, particularly those operating near educational institutions, and ordered strict punishment for any remnants of narco-terror elements found within the system.

The strategic roadmap discussed during the meeting centers on five pillars: Enforcement, IEC (Information, Education, and Communication), Counseling, Treatment, and Rehabilitation, supported by a rigorous social media monitoring system to counter misinformation.

LG Sinha highlighted the necessity of Jan Bhagidari (public participation), urging religious leaders, social organizations, and political figures to join the crusade against substance abuse.

Beyond enforcement, the review focused on expanding de-addiction infrastructure, operationalizing new treatment facilities, and onboarding all districts onto the Nasha Mukt J&K Portal.

On the sidelines of the anti-drug agenda, the Lieutenant Governor also instructed senior officials to prioritize the Vibrant Villages Programme, ensuring inclusive development and heightened vigilance in J&K’s border regions.
