Srinagar Airport Modernization: Union Minister Rammohan Naidu to Inaugurate Upgraded Passenger Facilities

SRINAGAR, MARCH 28, 2026: In a major boost to regional air connectivity and traveler convenience, Srinagar Airport is set to unveil a suite of new passenger-centric facilities on March 29, 2026.

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Rammohan Naidu Kinjarapu, will virtually inaugurate several key upgrades designed to transform the travel experience in the Kashmir Valley.

These enhancements are part of a broader national initiative to modernize aviation infrastructure and provide world-class amenities to domestic and international commuters.

The upgraded terminal features will include a significantly expanded Security Hold Area to reduce congestion and a seamless DigiYatra access system for paperless, biometric-based entry.

To cater to the digital and leisure needs of travelers, the airport will now offer free Wi-Fi for up to four hours and the unique “Flybrary”—a dedicated library space for passengers to enjoy books while waiting for their flights.

This modernization drive marks a significant step toward creating a smarter, more comfortable, and highly efficient transit hub at Srinagar, aligning with the Airports Authority of India’s (AAI) commitment to enhancing the “ease of travel” across the country.
