JAMMU, MARCH 28, 2026: In a proactive move to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2026, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, chaired a high-level review meeting today to streamline the execution of essential developmental works across the Jammu Division.

The meeting, which saw participation from Deputy Commissioners of Jammu, Kathua, Samba, Udhampur, and Ramban, alongside heads of departments from JPDCL, PWD, PHE, and Health Services, focused on a comprehensive district-wise action plan designed to enhance logistics and civic amenities for both pilgrims and security personnel.

During the session, the Divisional Commissioner scrutinized detailed reports regarding the augmentation of lodging and boarding facilities at various transit points and lodgment centers.

Emphasizing the need for time-bound execution, he issued strict directives to the Deputy Commissioners and various stakeholder departments—including Tourism and Rural Development (RDD)—to expedite the tendering process and initiate immediate repair, renovation, and face-lifting works.

The administration’s primary objective is to complete all infrastructure upgrades well before the commencement of the annual pilgrimage, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for the thousands of devotees expected to participate in the 2026 Yatra.
