Bhaderwah ADC Intensifies NGT Guideline Enforcement to Protect Ecologically Sensitive Zones
BHADERWAH, March 28, 2026 — In a major push toward environmental conservation, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sunil Kumar Bhutyal has spearheaded a rigorous enforcement drive to implement National Green Tribunal (NGT) guidelines across the Bhaderwah sub-division.
During a high-level review meeting held today, the ADC emphasized that protecting the region’s unique ecological heritage requires immediate and strict adherence to sustainable waste management protocols.
To ensure transparency and real-time accountability, the administration has mandated the daily submission of geo-tagged photographs documenting waste collection efforts, alongside a robust monitoring system to track environmental compliance across the district.
The administrative directive places a heavy focus on achieving 100% door-to-door waste collection in rural areas, bridging the gap between urban sanitation and remote village cleanliness.
Specialized logistics have been ordered for marketplaces, including the deployment of dedicated vehicles to collect organic and commercial waste specifically from fruit and vegetable vendors and poultry shops.
Furthermore, the ADC proposed the installation of chain-link fencing in vulnerable hotspots to physically deter illegal garbage dumping, thereby safeguarding local water bodies and forest fringes from pollution.
The meeting saw active participation from a wide spectrum of stakeholders, including the Municipal Committee, Bhaderwah Development Authority (BDA), and the Jammu and Kashmir Pollution Control Committee (JKPCC) Doda.
Officials from the Public Works, Jal Shakti, Health, and Mechanical departments, as well as the Assistant Commissioner Panchayat (ACP), were instructed to work in a synchronized manner to meet these environmental benchmarks.
This collaborative approach marks a significant step in Bhaderwah’s commitment to sustainable development and the preservation of its ecologically sensitive landscapes.
