Ladakh LG Vinai Kumar Saxena Deploys Emergency Teams Following Zojila Avalanche

Leh | March 27, 2026 — Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Vinai Kumar Saxena, has mobilized a large-scale emergency response following reports of a tragic avalanche at the Zoji La pass.

Expressing his deep concern, the Lieutenant Governor immediately directed the Deputy Commissioner and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Kargil to visit the site to lead the relief and rescue operations.

To ensure a swift and coordinated response, LG Saxena has placed all relevant government agencies, including disaster relief forces and the Border Roads Organization (BRO), on high alert to assist in reaching those stranded and clearing the vital mountain pass.

In a statement shared on the social media platform X, the Lieutenant Governor confirmed that he is personally monitoring the situation to ensure that all necessary resources are made available without delay. “Heard the unfortunate news of an avalanche at Zoji La.
