UDHAMPUR, February 6, 2026 — In a significant display of medical discipline and preventive healthcare, the Command Hospital Northern Command, Udhampur, successfully participated in a massive PAN-Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) hand sanitization exercise on February 5, 2026.
This initiative was part of a historic record-breaking attempt organized in collaboration with the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records to celebrate the Centenary Year of the Military Nursing Service (MNS), honoring 100 years of dedicated care for service personnel and their families.
The Udhampur event saw 421 participants, including military officers, MNS officers, paramedical professionals, and civilian healthcare staff, gather at 08:15 hrs to perform a standardized sanitization protocol.
By aligning with both AFMS and WHO infection prevention guidelines, the exercise aimed to reinforce hand hygiene as a vital safeguard against hospital-acquired infections and to highlight its role in enhancing patient safety.
The program concluded with interactive sessions and live demonstrations, successfully uniting the tri-services in a collective commitment to life-saving hygiene standards.
