Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026 Fresh Batch of Over 1000 Pilgrims Departs From Jammu For Baltal Base Camp
JAMMU, Aug 3 — A fresh batch of 1,056 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims departed from the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu for the Baltal axis under tight security arrangements early Monday morning.
According to the Joint Police Control Room, the 26th batch left the premises at 2:49 AM and comprised 832 men, 205 women, two children, 15 sadhus, and two sadhvis, while no convoy was dispatched toward the Pahalgam route.The pilgrims made their journey toward the holy cave shrine in a fleet of 46 vehicles, which included 24 buses, seven medium motor vehicles, and 15 light motor vehicles.
Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force and the Jammu and Kashmir Police escorted the convoy along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway to guarantee the safe and smooth movement of the devotees.
With the departure of this latest group, official records show that the cumulative number of pilgrims leaving from Jammu since the commencement of this year’s annual pilgrimage has reached 1,40,748.
Security forces continue to maintain heightened vigil along the travel routes to ensure the seamless execution of the ongoing pilgrimage.
