Indian Army Provides Swift Humanitarian Relief Following Cloudburst in Kargil
KARGIL, Aug 3 — Troops of the Indian Army’s Forever in Operations Division responded swiftly to provide emergency relief following a devastating cloudburst at Gund in Hardass, Kargil, on August 2, 2026.
The sudden intense rainfall triggered severe flash floods that disrupted local road connectivity and left numerous residents stranded across the impacted area.In immediate response to the disaster, army personnel launched rescue operations to evacuate affected residents, administer critical first aid, and supply essential drinking water, provisions, and hot meals.
Despite facing harsh weather and difficult terrain, the troops remained on the ground alongside the local community throughout the night to ensure public safety.
Continuing relief efforts on August 3, 2026, the military forces worked in close coordination with the civil administration to clear heavy debris and restore vital road, water, and electricity infrastructure.
