Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Reviews Nunwan Base Camp Facilities
ANANTNAG, JULY 03, 2026: In a bid to ensure a seamless and safe journey for pilgrims on the Pahalgam Axis of the Amarnath Yatra, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, conducted an extensive inspection of several key facilities on Friday. Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat and other senior administrative and development officials, Garg visited the Nunwan Base Camp, Frisking Point, Hikers Park, and the Club. The high-level visit coincided with the departure of the Yatra’s first batch, allowing officials to evaluate the real-time preparedness of various departments and assess the overall pilgrim facilitation infrastructure.
During his tour, the Divisional Commissioner closely inspected the security frisking protocols, eKYC verification processes, and RFID registration counters. Garg actively interacted with the arriving Yatris to gather first-hand feedback regarding the quality of services and amenities being provided on-site. Emphasizing that pilgrim safety, comfort, and convenience remain top priorities, he directed all line departments to maintain flawless coordination and keep the operational machinery responsive to handle the anticipated surge of devotees in the coming days.
Addressing the challenge of a heavy influx of unregistered pilgrims, Garg instructed officials to urgently streamline the on-the-spot registration system to drastically reduce waiting times. At Hikers Park and the Club, he reviewed the token-based RFID systems and eKYC updates, commending the registration teams for their hard work while urging them to efficiently meet their daily registration quotas. He concluded by ordering all departments to remain fully functional and proactive, ensuring a hassle-free and spiritually fulfilling pilgrimage experience for everyone involved.
