CRPF ensures foolproof security for Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026
JAMMU, JULY 03: Central Reserve Police Force personnel have established a comprehensive security umbrella across the region from Jammu to the Kashmir Valley to ensure a safe and smooth pilgrimage for devotees attending the annual Amarnath Yatra.
Working closely with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Indian Army, and other Central Armed Police Forces, security personnel are collaborating to manage transit routes and protect pilgrims traveling to the holy cave shrine.
The Amarnath Yatra officially commenced today on July 3, 2026, and is scheduled to run for 57 days before concluding on August 28, 2026.
The annual pilgrimage progresses through two traditional routes, including the 48-kilometer Nunwan-Pahalgam track and the shorter 14-kilometer Baltal track, with heightened security deployments managing both pathways for the duration of the event.
