Southern Command Chief Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar Reviews Sudarshan Chakra Corps Operational Readiness and Tech Integration
PUNE, July 17, 2026 — Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, Army Commander of the Southern Command, conducted a comprehensive review of the operational readiness of the Sudarshan Chakra Corps, the Shahbaaz Division, and their affiliated formations. During his visit, the Army Commander was thoroughly briefed on the formations’ strategic mission preparedness, current operational posture, and ongoing capability development initiatives.
A major focus of the review centered on advanced training methodologies and indigenous technology absorption currently being spearheaded by the Sudarshan Chakra Corps.
At the Shahbaaz Division, Lt Gen Pushkar witnessed live demonstrations of indigenous Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) platforms showcasing precision engagement capabilities designed to counter emerging modern threats. The Army Commander highly lauded these localized development initiatives, noting that they perfectly align with the Indian Army’s broader roadmap under the “Decade of Transformation.”
