Samba Police seize property of notorious drug peddler under NDPS Act
Samba, July 18, 2026: In a major crackdown under the Nasha Mukt Abhiyan initiative, the Samba Police have attached property worth approximately 21 lakh rupees belonging to a notorious drug peddler.
The seized assets, which include a temporary house and cattle, belong to Sheema Bibi, originally from Phangsal, Bishnah, who is currently residing in the Upper Balole area of Bari Brahmana in the Samba district.
The police executed the property attachment under sections 68-E and 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.An investigation conducted by the police revealed that the house and cattle were illegally acquired assets. The inquiry established that the property was primarily funded through the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The accused, Sheema Bibi, is recognized as a habitual offender in drug trafficking, who was previously booked under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and is currently lodged in the District Jail Bhaderwah.
This enforcement action highlights the commitment of the local police to dismantle drug networks by targeting illegal assets and discouraging future offenses. The unprecedented initiative by the Samba Police against local drug dealers has received widespread appreciation from residents in the area.
