Jammu Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah Reviews Major Development Projects in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, July 30, 2026 – Chief Minister Omar Abdullah undertook an extensive tour of Ganderbal district to inspect ongoing infrastructure projects, chair a high-level development review meeting, and interact directly with public deputations.

Commencing his visit with an inspection of the New Bus Adda Road, the Chief Minister directed executing agencies to accelerate construction to ensure the time-bound completion of the vital route aimed at easing local traffic congestion. Accompanied by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal Jatin Kishore, and senior Roads & Buildings Department engineers, he emphasized that key public infrastructure must be completed without unnecessary delays.

During the subsequent review meeting, senior administrative and departmental heads discussed critical development initiatives, including road connectivity, irrigation canals, flood protection measures, land acquisition, solid waste management, and sewerage facilities.

Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore presented key priority areas requiring government intervention, such as approach road construction for the Paribal-Takanwari bridge, infrastructure improvements for the Central University of Kashmir, a new Sewage Treatment Plant at Manasbal, and the rehabilitation of shopkeepers affected by Ring Road Phase-II widening.

Directing departments to resolve bottlenecks through close coordination, Omar Abdullah reaffirmed the government’s commitment to balanced, inclusive development and responsive governance across Jammu and Kashmir.Concluding his tour at Dak Bungalow Ganderbal, the Chief Minister met with numerous public delegations representing areas including Safapora, Nuner, Manigam, Lar, and Manasbal to hear local grievances firsthand.

Community representatives raised demands concerning drinking water supply, canal desilting, healthcare and educational upgrades, sports infrastructure, and tourism facilities. Assuring residents that their genuine concerns would be prioritized, Omar Abdullah instructed officials to examine the demands and take time-bound action to deliver transparent and effective public services.
