District Police Poonch seizes five vehicles in crackdown on illegal mining operations

Poonch, August 03, 2026: Continuing its sustained campaign against illegal mining, District Police Poonch carried out a series of enforcement operations across different parts of the district, resulting in the seizure of five vehicles involved in the unauthorized extraction and transportation of mining material.

During special checking and enforcement drives conducted by different units of District Police Poonch, police teams intercepted and seized one tipper and four tractor trolleys found engaged in illegal mining activities. The action was taken as part of the continuous efforts of the police to curb illegal mining, protect natural resources, and ensure strict enforcement of the law.

The seized vehicles were found involved in the unauthorized transportation of mining material. The Mining Department has been informed to initiate necessary legal proceedings and further action under the relevant provisions of the mining laws and regulations. District Police Poonch remains committed to adopting a zero-tolerance approach towards illegal mining and other unlawful activities.
