Anantnag Police and SSP distribute sweets, exchange Eid greetings
ANANTNAG, May 27, 2026 — Eid ul Adha prayers were offered peacefully across Anantnag district amid an atmosphere of devotion, brotherhood, and communal harmony.
Thousands of worshippers gathered at various mosques, shrines, and Eidgahs across the district to participate in the special festive congregations.
To facilitate the smooth conduct of the events, the Anantnag Police put elaborate security and traffic management arrangements in place. Senior police officers visited major prayer venues to interact with the public and extend their festive greetings.
Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag, Amod Ashok Nagpure, attended the congregational prayers and conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the citizens. He interacted with the worshippers, expressing appreciation for their cooperation in maintaining peace and communal brotherhood.
In a gesture of goodwill reflecting a strong police-public partnership, police personnel also distributed sweets among the devotees at various locations after the conclusion of the prayers.
The main congregations were held at Kaba Marg, Karim Dargah, Eidgah Ashajipora, and Khanqah-e-Hyderi Aishmuqam, all of which concluded peacefully without any untoward incidents.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police extended its gratitude to religious leaders, volunteers, civil society members, and the general public for ensuring order during the festivities.
