Leh 25 September :- Ladakh Police arrested 48 people in connection with violent protests that erupted across the region on Tuesday, leaving four dead and over 50 injured. The demonstrations, aimed at highlighting local political and administrative concerns, escalated into clashes between protesters and security forces.
Authorities imposed curfew in multiple areas to prevent further unrest and restore law and order. Security personnel, including paramilitary forces, were deployed across key locations in Leh and nearby towns. Hospitals reported treating dozens of injured, many sustaining serious injuries during the clashes.
Local leaders and protest organizers appealed for calm, urging residents to avoid violence and cooperate with authorities. The administration assured citizens that their grievances would be addressed through proper channels, emphasizing dialogue over unrest.
Investigations are underway to determine the causes of the violence and review the conduct of those involved. Police have also called on the public to report suspicious activities to help restore peace quickly.The situation remains tense, and authorities warned that further violations of curfew or engagement in violent acts will result in strict action under the law.
