One Dead, Several Injured as Tempo Overturns on Jammu-Srinagar Highway Near Udhampur
Udhampur 11 September :- One person was killed, and several others suffered injuries after a Tempo Traveller veered off the road and overturned near Modi Ground on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in Battal Ballian, Udhampur, on Thursday.
The vehicle was en route to Anantnag in Srinagar from Jammu when the driver lost control, causing it to turn turtle.
Reports confirmed the tragic incident and stated that at about 04:30 , a tempo bearing registration No. JK02DD 9376, while on its way from Jammu towards Udhampur, turned turtle near Celebration Hall, Battal Ballian on NHW-44, resulting in injuries to the passengers on board. The injured persons were shifted to GMC Udhampur for treatment, out of which one, Shakeel, S/O Irshad, aged 40 years, R/O Punia Bihar, died.Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been shifted to the hospital’s mortuary for a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.
The Udhampur police have registered the case and further investigation going on.
