DIG Shiv Kumar Sharma reviews security and anti terror operations in Udhampur and Reasi

UDHAMPUR, July 11, 2026 — Deputy Inspector General of Police for the Udhampur-Reasi Range, Shiv Kumar Sharma, conducted an extensive operational preparedness and security review meeting to enhance security mechanisms, intensify anti-terror operations, and reinforce public confidence across the region.

During the session, the top official interacted with ground-level officers, evaluated area domination measures, and emphasized the critical importance of proactive policing, intelligence gathering, and seamless coordination among all active security agencies.

The comprehensive coordination meeting included senior police officials from both Reasi and Udhampur districts, alongside specialized operational commanders from Latti, Basantgarh, Arnas, and Mahore. The officers were directed to intensify long-range patrols, short-range patrols, cordon and search operations, and focused counter-insurgency operations to maintain a robust and effective security grid. Additionally, the review stressed the value of police-public cooperation, with the official urging local citizens to share information regarding any suspicious activities to support collective efforts in maintaining regional stability and harmony.
