Kishtwar administration issues weather advisory and alerts departments amid rain forecast
KISHTWAR, July 11, 2026 — The Office of the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar has issued a comprehensive weather advisory following a forecast from the Indian Meteorological Department predicting light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across the district until July 14, 2026.
Higher reaches and mountainous areas are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall, prompting the administration to strongly advise the general public, especially residents near riverbanks, streams, and other vulnerable areas, to avoid these zones and take necessary precautions until weather conditions improve.
In response to the advisory, Additional Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kotwal has placed all line departments, including Revenue, PWD, Mechanical Engineering, PMGSY, JPDCL, Jal Shakti, Health and Medical, Education, Irrigation and Flood Control, NHIDCL, and the Border Roads Organisation, on high alert. Field staff have been directed to remain active and prepared to deliver immediate assistance, while all tehsildars must immediately report any damage to life or property directly to the administration.
