Para-Athlete Chandeep Singh Sets World Record with 7,000+ km Foot-Driven Expedition in Hyundai CRETA
JAMMU, August 02, 2026: International para-athlete and electrical engineer Chandeep Singh has officially entered the Golden Book of Records after successfully completing a landmark 7,000+ km cross-country expedition from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and back. Driving a specially adapted Hyundai CRETA entirely with his feet, Singh established a groundbreaking world record for the longest foot-driven vehicle journey across India. The historic achievement was celebrated at a closing ceremony in Jammu attended by Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, Transport Commissioner Vishesh Paul, Regional Transport Officer Jasmeet Singh, and senior executives from Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) and AM Hyundai.
Supported by Hyundai Motor India’s flagship social initiative, ‘Samarth by Hyundai’, the expedition aimed to promote barrier-free mobility and empower persons with disabilities to pursue their aspirations without limits. The custom-engineered CRETA performed flawlessly across diverse terrains and climatic conditions, demonstrating the vital role accessible technology plays in creating equal opportunities. Highlighting the initiative’s impact, Virat Khullar, Head of Marketing at HMIL, praised Singh’s indomitable human spirit as an inspiration to millions. Expressing his gratitude, Singh emphasized that the milestone was realized through years of preparation and belief, proving that no destination is out of reach when determination is paired with the right support system and an inclusive mobility ecosystem.
