Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026: First Batch of Pilgrims Flagged Off; Receives Grand Welcome in Udhampur and Ramban

Udhampur July 01, 2026 :- The highly anticipated Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 officially commenced with immense religious fervor and comprehensive administrative backing. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha flagged off the inaugural batch of enthusiastic devotees from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu, marking the formal beginning of the annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine of Baba Barfani. This grand flag-off ceremony set a deeply spiritual and vibrant tone for the journey ahead, as thousands of pilgrims embarked on their sacred passage through the scenic terrains of Jammu and Kashmir.

As the first batch of pilgrims advanced along the route, the District Administration of Udhampur extended a grand and deeply heartfelt welcome to the yatris upon their arrival at the landmark Kali Mata Mandir in Tikri. Senior dignitaries, including DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa, and SSP Shri Amritpal Singh, were present on the ground to personally greet the devotees. The top civil and police officials reassured the pilgrims of comprehensive safety protocols, multi-tiered security measures, and hassle-free administrative arrangements designed to ensure a smooth transition through the district. Deeply moved by the warmth of the reception, the overwhelmed pilgrims expressed their sincere gratitude and highly praised the Udhampur Civil and Police Administration for the excellent facilities put in place for their comfort.

Continuing their sacred journey along the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway, the first batch of pilgrims bound for the scenic Baltal route received another exceptionally enthusiastic reception as they entered Chanderkote. The District Administration of Ramban, working hand-in-hand with local civil society members and various voluntary Langar organizations, lined up to warmly greet and serve the passing devotees. This vibrant reception at Chanderkote, Ramban, beautifully highlighted the seamless inter-district coordination and the deeply rooted, community-driven spirit of the region. Local volunteers and officials alike demonstrated an unwavering dedication to making the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026 a resounding success, ensuring that every single devotee feels thoroughly supported on their spiritual path to the Holy Cave Shrine.
