Assam Rifles Honors Fallen Heroes of 1967 Nagaland Operations at Maram War Memorial

MARAM (MANIPUR), JULY 01, 2026 — In a solemn tribute to its fallen heroes, the Assam Rifles conducted a wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial in Maram, Manipur, on June 30, 2026.

The ceremony honored six bravehearts from the 16 Assam Rifles who made the supreme sacrifice exactly fifty-nine years ago while fighting anti-national elements (ANEs) at Peren, Nagaland, on June 30, 1967.

By laying wreaths at the memorial, the force reaffirmed its enduring commitment to remembering the courage, ultimate sacrifice, and unwavering devotion of its soldiers to the nation.
