Awantipora 06 September :- Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police have arrested one drug peddler and recovered heroin from his possession. During naka checking at Awantipora , Police party of Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Ajaz Hamd and IC PP Toll Plaza under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora apprehended 01 person identified as Shakeel Ahmad Lone S/O Manzoor Ahmad Lone R/O Lethpora.
The arrested person was moving in a suspicious circumstances during search, officers were able to recover 2.9 grams of heroin like substance from his possession.The arrested drug peddler has been shifted to police station where he remains in custody. Case FIR Number 188 / 2025 under relevant sections of NDPS stands registered at Police Station Awantipora.Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
