S.R. Saravanan Inspects Coimbatore Airport Security and Inaugurates Welfare Facilities
COIMBATORE, June 26, 2026 — S.R. Saravanan, IPS, Inspector General of the Aviation Security Group (APS-II) Headquarters Bengaluru, concluded a comprehensive two-day inspection of the CISF Unit at Airport Security Group (ASG) Coimbatore. Spanning June 24–25, 2026, the high-level evaluation focused on reviewing the unit’s operational preparedness, security infrastructure, training standards, and overall personnel welfare.
During the visit, Saravanan thoroughly assessed key airport security protocols and toured various unit facilities. A standout highlight of the evaluation was a specialized K9 demonstration presented by the local unit, which earned high praise from the Inspecting Officer. Beyond operational checks, the Inspector General engaged in strategic talks with Airports Authority of India (AAI) officials to align on critical security and welfare initiatives, chaired a Crime Intelligence Wing (CIW) meeting, and held a dedicated session to directly address grievances raised by jawans.
Demonstrating a strong commitment to the welfare and education of the forces, Saravanan also inaugurated the newly established Sanrakshika Computer Centre and E-Library, designed to benefit CISF personnel and their families. To round out the rigorous assessment, the unit executed a successful mock tactical exercise simulating a “Forceful Intrusion and Armed Attack at the Cargo Complex,” effectively proving their swift response capabilities and combat readiness. The inspection wrapped up with a traditional Sainik Sammelan, where the Inspector General commended the troops and motivated them to continuously uphold the highest standards of vigilance, professionalism, and service excellence.
