Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary hosts public grievance camp in Majalta Udhampur
UDHAMPUR, JUNE 24 — Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary conducted a public outreach-cum-grievance redress camp at Government Higher Secondary School in Majalta to interact with local residents and ensure the timely resolution of their issues. During the camp, former PRI members and locals projected several demands, including the establishment of a trauma center at Manwal, augmentation of drinking water supply, road upgradation projects, and the inclusion of left-out beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
The residents also raised development matters concerning the tribal community.Responding to the public demands, the Deputy Chief Minister assured that all genuine concerns would be addressed in a time-bound manner, resolving several grievances on the spot by issuing direct instructions to departmental heads. He emphasized that the primary objective of these outreach programs is to resolve daily public issues at the grassroots level through direct interaction.
Officers were instructed to work with dedication and to organize awareness camps so eligible beneficiaries can easily access various government welfare schemes and initiatives.Reiterating the government’s commitment to people-centric governance, the Deputy Chief Minister stated that the administration led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is focusing heavily on delivering good governance.
He further acknowledged the support of the Government of India for providing substantial developmental funds to Jammu and Kashmir, which are significantly contributing to regional progress.
Concluding his visit, the Deputy Chief Minister conducted an on-site inspection of ongoing development works in Majalta to review progress, ensure quality execution, and speak with residents regarding local welfare.
