CISF detects 420 grams of suspected contraband at Imphal Airport

IMPHAL, JUNE 24 — Central Industrial Security Force personnel at Imphal Airport intercepted a passenger during a random baggage screening for a flight bound for Delhi. Upon thorough examination of the baggage, security personnel detected a suspected packet of cannabis, commonly known as ganja, weighing approximately 420 grams concealed inside.

Following standard security procedures, the baggage was opened in the presence of the security force’s internal intelligence staff, Airport Police, and Airports Authority of India officials. The passenger, along with the seized suspected contraband substance, was subsequently handed over to the Singjamei Police for further legal action.

This successful interception highlights the ongoing commitment of security personnel to ensuring safe and secure civil aviation through robust screening procedures and constant vigilance against unlawful activities.
