Delhi Police Crime Branch Arrests Notorious Interstate Dacoit Evading Law for 21 Years

NEW DELHI, June 4, 2026 — The Western Range Two Crime Branch of the Delhi Police achieved a major breakthrough by arresting a notorious interstate criminal who had successfully evaded law enforcement agencies for more than 21 years.

The captured fugitive carried a combined bounty of 30,000 rupees placed on his head by the Haryana and Uttar Pradesh police departments. He was highly wanted for his involvement in 11 heinous criminal cases, including armed dacoity, highway robbery, and organized crime syndicates operating across Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.

The tracking investigation revealed that the suspect had managed to escape from police custody back in 2005 and remained entirely underground by frequently changing his identity, using forged documents, and constantly shifting his residential locations across state borders.

The successful arrest operation was executed by a specialized team led by Inspector Satish Malik, working under the direct guidance of Assistant Commissioner of Police Rajpal Dabas and the overall operational supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police Harsh Indora. The arrest effectively neutralizes a long-standing threat to public safety and marks the end of a multi-state manhunt.
