Gujarat Police Detain 362 Illegal Bangladeshi Immigrants in Statewide Operation Delta Hunt

AHMEDABAD, JUNE 03 — Gujarat Police has detained 362 illegal Bangladeshi nationals following a massive security crackdown code-named Operation Delta Hunt. Law enforcement officials are actively interrogating and verifying the credentials of more than 782 additional suspected individuals.

The extensive ground operation aims to dismantle illegal infiltration networks and fortify national security. To identify targets, intelligence units utilized a database containing over 6,200 suspected illegal immigrants and conducted a thorough analysis of mobile numbers maintaining active links to contacts based in Bangladesh.In tandem with the field raids, authorities have significantly tightened security at major transit points to stop suspects from fleeing the state.

Police teams successfully arrested 18 individuals attempting to escape during these intensified checking procedures. Heightened surveillance, strict identity verifications, and round-the-clock monitoring remain in place at all major bus terminals, railway stations, and strategic entry and exit points across Gujarat.
