Jammu And Kashmir Weather Forecast Predicts Dry Days Followed By Rain And Hailstorms

SRINAGAR, May 31, 2026 – The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a fresh weather update indicating a transition from generally dry conditions to widespread rain, thunderstorms, and hailstorms across Jammu and Kashmir over the coming week. From May 31 to June 2, the region is expected to remain generally dry, though brief spells of rain or thundershowers at a few places during the late afternoon hours cannot be completely ruled out.

The weather pattern is projected to shift on June 3, bringing generally cloudy skies along with a spell of rain, thundershowers, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph in several areas.

A more significant weather disturbance is anticipated between June 4 and June 5, with one or two spells of rain, thundershowers, hailstorms, and gusty winds predicted at many places across the union territory.

By June 6, the system will begin to weaken, leaving generally cloudy skies with brief showers at a few locations, before a dry weather spell returns to the region on June 7 and June 8.

In light of these conditions, the weather department has issued an advisory warning residents of potential thunder, lightning, hailstorms, and gusty winds ranging from 40 to 50 kmph, and gusting up to 60 kmph, at scattered places between June 3 and June 6.
