Indian Army foils Exfiltration bid and apprehends POJK intruder in Uri

SRINAGAR, May 31, 2026 — The Indian Army Chinar Corps, in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police, successfully foiled an exfiltration attempt and apprehended a Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir intruder in separate operations in the Uri sector of Baramulla district.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, security forces launched a joint search operation in the general area of Uri. During the operation, vigilant troops apprehended two individuals from Sopore who were attempting to cross the border with inimical intent.
Their accomplice guide was also taken into custody, and a further probe into the incident is currently underway.
In a separate incident along the Line of Control in the same sector, alert troops intercepted and apprehended an intruder from Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The soldiers maintained restraint while challenging the individual, executing a surgical apprehension.
The intruder has since been handed over to the Jammu and Kashmir Police for further legal proceedings.
