Jammu police arrest drug peddler with heroin under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in RS Pura

JAMMU, May 30, 2026As part of its sustained drive against drug trafficking and substance abuse under the ongoing Mission 100 Days Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the RS Pura Police Station apprehended a drug peddler and recovered approximately 4.60 grams of a heroin-like substance from his possession.

A patrolling police team intercepted a suspicious individual, identified as Raj Kumar, also known as Jhonny, a resident of Ward Number 7 in RS Pura, Jammu district. During a personal search of the suspect, security personnel recovered the contraband, locally referred to as chitta.

Following the recovery, law enforcement officials registered a case under sections 8, 21, and 22 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at the RS Pura Police Station. The accused was taken into custody, and a detailed investigation is underway to trace the supply chain.

Jammu Police reaffirmed their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against the drug menace and urged the public to share any information regarding local drug peddling activities.
